
Dr. L. August Lovegren was born
of missionary parents in West China in 1921. He attended
elementary school at Canadian Mission School in Chengtu, China
and graduated high school at Marshall High School in
Minneapolis, MN in 1938.
He received his BS from Howard
College (now Samford University) in Birmingham, AL, then
attended medical school at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at
Wake Forest College and received his MD in 1942. He then
did his post graduate work at Southwestern Seminary from
1948-1949.
In May, 1951, he married Alta
L. Grimes. They have two children.
He retired in 1987, and is
currently living in Cedartown, GA.
He has volunteered for mission
work many times, including seven trips to Yemen, Jordan, and
Northern Iraq between 1988 and 1996.
