Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation is able to take care of many pressing issues at the hospital.  Here is a list of where your money has gone over the last several years:

  • Purchase of Sonosite Ultrasound machine - $15,250
  • Support of student volunteers - a total of $45,000 since 2006
  • Support of volunteer coordinator, 2 full time physicians, and several part time Ghanaian physicians for 2010 - $38,000
  • Diesel generator transfer switch - $7,200
  • Nutrition Centre Support - $700 per month
  • 3 laptop computers - $2,700
  • 2 Vehicles for physician staff and volunteers - $4,700
  • Refurbish physician staff house - $7,000
  • Volunteer trip & parts to repair broken equipment (2010) - $2,750
  • Addition to pediatric ward - $20,000
  • Major hospital renovations including electrical rewiring, repainting, ceiling/lights, and reflooring - $144,000
  • New generator - $51,400
  • Equipment purchases
    • OR table x 2 - $2,400

    • Refurbished anesthesia machines (donated)

  • Support of student volunteers (10 per year at $10,000; a total of $32,770 since 2006
  • Informational support via email for those interested in serving at Baptist Medical Centre BMC
  • Support of two-year physician volunteer for 2009 - $11,000
  • Paid for four years of medical school for a Ghanaian student who will serve at BMC for several years - $14,000
