Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation is able to take care of many pressing issues at the hospital.  Here is a list of where your money has gone over the last several years:

  • Addition to pediatric ward - $20,000
  • Major hospital renovations including electrical rewiring, repainting, ceiling/lights, and reflooring - $144,000
  • New generator - $51,400
  • Equipment purchases
    • OR table x 2 - $2,400
    • Autoclave - $6,500
    • Industrial washer - $11,900
    • Suction machines - $210
    • Refurbished anesthesia machines (donated)
    • Lab microscope - $2,823
    • Hematocrit centrifuges - $900
    • New truck - $5,000
    • Electrical generator transfer switch - $1,000
    • Well pump - $1,800
    • Miscellaneous medical equipment $265
  • Occasional operational funding - about $50,000
  • Support of student volunteers (10 per year at $10,000; a total of $32,770 since 2006
  • Informational support via email for those interested in serving at Baptist Medical Centre BMC
  • Support of two-year physician volunteer for 2009 - $11,000
  • Paid for four years of medical school for a Ghanaian student who will serve at BMC for several years - $14,000
